Formula 1 competitor Liam Lawson revealed he barely escaped a potentially deadly collision during Sunday's Mexico City Grand Prix when a pair of track officials darted across the track immediately ahead of his car
The alarming incident happened on the third lap when track officials were spotted on the track as Lawson was returning to the race following an quick visit to the pits to replace his broken nose section

Shortly afterward, the Formula 1 racer Lawson communicated to his race engineer saying: "You've got to be joking? Did you witness that? I might have... taken their lives"
"I genuinely couldn't process what I was witnessing"
"I exited on a brand new hard tyres, and then I got to Turn One and there were just two guys dashing across the track"
"I almost collided with one of them, frankly, it was extremely hazardous"
